Programs for Preschoolers

Jay-Niles Memorial Library Children’s Programs-Fall 2016

For several years we have been doing a lap sit program and a Preschool Story Time. Due to the increase in Pre-K programs, we have seen a drop in our number of attendees. We would like to continue to offer this, but we need to get a sense for if there is an interest.

Generally speaking, lap-sit is intended for the 0-2 (or 3 year-olds), and the Preschool Story and Craft Time is intended for some 3 year-olds, and 4 and 5 year-olds.  There is room for over-lap.  Keep in mind that you know your child best, and can decide what is developmentally appropriate.

In the past, both programs have been held on Wednesday morning.  Joyce Cunningham has been running the lap-sit program and Mrs. Pineau, our Children’s Librarian, has  been running the Preschool Story and Craft Time.   These programs typically run for 10 weeks. If you are interested in having your child attend, please write down your name, which program your child would attend, and what day of the week would work best for you.  For more information please stop by the library, call (645-4062), or e-mail thoke@jaynileslibrary.com.
