This year our theme for the Summer Reading Program for the younger kids is Reading through Time. The kick-off for the children’s summer reading program will be a special author visit with Maine children’s author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen on June 14th at 6:30p.m.The focus of the Summer Reading Program will be on history. Children’s Librarian, Priscilla Pineau will be running this program and has a number of history-focused programs planned. She will focus on a different time period every week including: Pioneer Days, The Civil War, World War II to the Present, Colonial Days, the 1800s, and Victorian Days. There will be a reading and an activity/craft for every week of the program to go along with the theme. Initial sign-up will take place on June 14th from 3-6:15p.m. and will continue until July 9th.
